M1 Fixed Bail/Westinghouse or Inland Paraliner Combination

A common sight from around the post Normandy drop.
M2 bails being fragile broke in huge numbers. Many Field expedient repairs can be seen in contemporary photos. However, a common solution was to replace the broken M2 with the standard Infantry helmet, the fixed bail M1 in which the soldier simply placed their para liner inside.
Both Inland and Westinghouse are to be found and later on the standard swivel bail helmet when they slowly replaced the Fixed bail.
